 Born and raised in New York City, Edie early developed a love of the outdoors summering in the Adirondack mountains of New York. After raising her three children “in the woods” outside of Boston, she was headed towards Acupuncture School, when she took a trip down the Colorado River through Grand Canyon. The trip showed her nature and the earth “in beauty” and as a transforming power stronger than she had ever imagined. Edie felt the healing energy of the canyon, the river, and the ancient pueblo people who had inhabited the area; she wanted to share this with others.
When it turned out that the rafting company was for sale, Edie bought it and spent several years learning to row through the canyon’s big water, while building her interpretive base of information to become a guide. After 13 years of guiding, Edie is now focusing on becoming a hands-on healer. She is in her final year of school at the Barbara Brennan School of Healing, a four year international school. After graduation in 2002, she plans to open a small healing practice.
