Laurie Lee manages the Canyon Explorations/Expeditions office, doing everything from sending out brochures and taking reservations to guide scheduling, budgeting, and brochure/website revisions. She says, I spend most of each day on the phone: taking reservations, discussing trip options, weather, clothing, foot wear. My time on the phone helping with trip type choices and trip preparations is my favorite part of my job. In the summer, I get to finally meet everyone at the pre-trip orientations. I do one or two river trips each year and am addicted to the Paddle Boat, the hikes, the camping, the interpretive talks (OK, I love everything about our trips) which are the highlight of my season.
Laurie served for three years on the Executive Committee of Grand Canyon Youth's (a non-profit group dedicated to providing youth an experiential educatoin along hte rives of the Southwest) Board of Directors. she has alos served as the Chairman of the Committee to Enhance Access (for people with disabilities) on River Trips in Grand Canyon since 1995.
