Nicole Corbo has been a Grand Canyon river guide for the last seven years. In that time she has worked more trips than a typical guide would in twice that long. Her love for the canyon is year round and she has spent winters working in the Grand Canyon on resource management trips and facilitating a cross-country skiing program on the North Rim. An inherently social person, Nicole has a particular knack for storytelling and singing. Her desire to share the canyon with others is manifest in her work as a board member of Grand Canyon Youth, a non-profit group that provides adolescents with experiential education trips on the rivers of the Colorado Plateau. Nicole finds the canyon to be particularly special because “it is a place where one can be both humbled and empowered at the same time”.
